MUKAMAS 2024 – International Puppet Theatre Festival was organized from 11 to 15 September in Tampere. The event, celebrating its 25th anniversary, started in 1999 out of a desire to enrich national culture and show how versatile and limitless a genre puppet theatre is.

2024 is the actual celebration year for Teatteri Mukamas. In addition to the theatre’s 45th anniversary, Mukamas’ special International Puppet Theatre Festival is also celebrating its 25th anniversary. Now it’s time to remember with Mansi Stycz, the founder of the theatre and the artistic director of the festival, where the events started.

Festival week is here! MUKAMAS 2024 – International Puppet Theatre Festival takes place from Wednesday to Sunday, 11.-15. 9. In Tampere. The versatility of the puppet theatre is surprising as the adults’ programme also opens.

The long-awaited CHILDREN’S SATURDAY is coming, with performances and creative workshops for little festival guests! As usual, MUKAMAS 2024 offers a versatile and free side programme. In addition to the premises of Teatteri Mukamas, workshops are organized at Henneri’s play activity center. On Mukamas’ children’s Saturday, an event tent will be raised in the theatre yard, a party cafe will serve and Kontti (Mukamas’ container) will also open its doors.

MUKAMAS 2024 festival week is approaching! Next week, we will have wonderful performances from four countries in Tampere, but we also want to highlight extremely talented national puppeteers. Finnish visitors arrive from Espoo, Helsinki, Kemiönsaari, Turku and the festival’s hometown Tampere.

The final touches to the MUKAMAS 2024 festival programme are now done.

A new delightful addition has been made to the Programme for Adults: Saturday evening 14.9. KO-KOO-MO, a group which encourages independent construction, visits Teatteri Mukamas with its Block Theatre performances, after which there is an opportunity to participate in a workshop.
